assistance to Youth between the ages of 16 and 24 and to
aid in the transition to adult mental health services.

National
Capital Marathon
Team Paul Kennedy fundraising for Project
Upstream |
|
|
|

On October 22nd, 2002
the Kennedy Family’s youngest son Paul, age 22, died as
the result of a tragic automobile accident on the job.
Paul’s generosity in life continued in death, as he was
able to donate eight of his organs and tissues to improve
the quality of life for eight other individuals.
In memory of Paul, his family and friends created Paul’s
Team as part of the National Capital Race Weekend in May.
Since its’ inception in 2003,
the principal objective of Paul’s team has been raising
awareness of the need for organ and tissue donation. This
year, Paul’s team has decided to take on another challenge
and promote another worthy cause. In 2009, family and
friends will walk and run for Project Upstream in support
of those who suffer from long-term mental illness. The
opportunity to partner with a local charity that reaches
out and helps those in need epitomizes everything that
Paul represented in life.
This year’s event promises to be a fantastic time for all
involved!
