Project Upstream provides a range of support services to persons with mental illness. Services include:

  • Intensive Mental Health Case Management - Our operational core
  • Family-focused case management (liaison with network and coordination of services);
  • Advocacy;
  • Informal counselling;
  • Life skills teaching/coaching (ex. budgeting, nutrition, cooking, cleaning, medication management);
  • Group facilitation;
  • Crisis prevention/intervention;
  • Goal development and strategies/support for achievement.
  • Practical supports and assistance

Project Upstream also offers housing in:

  • Shared homes;
  • Shared apartments; or
  • Single apartments.

Project Upstream housing offers:

  • Fully furnished rent geared-to-income units

How to Access our Services

To apply for case management services from Project Upstream and/or other mental health service providers in Ottawa-Carleton, an application form must be submitted to the Mental Health Community Support Services (MHCSS) via the Canadian Mental Health Association.
